할리우드 스타 조지 클루니가 이번 시즌 브로드웨이에 데뷔했다. 2005년 클루니가 공동으로 시나리오를 쓰고 감독, 출연한 영화 '굿나잇 앤 굿럭(Good Night, and Good Luck)'을 무대로 옮긴 작품이다. 3월 12일 윈터가든 시어터에서 프리뷰를 시작한 연극 '굿나잇 앤 굿럭'은 1950년대 반공주의자 조셉 매카시 상원의원과 저널리스트 에드워드 R. 머로우의 이야기다. 클루니는 머로우 역을 맡아 무대에 올랐다. 영화에선 머로우와 공동 프루듀서인 프레드 W. 프렌들리 역으로 출연했었다. 연출은 데이빗 크로머가 맡았다. 공식 개막일은 4월 3일이다.

In a landmark theatrical event, two-time Academy Award® winner George Clooney makes his Broadway debut in Good Night, and Good Luck, an electrifying stage adaptation of the critically acclaimed film.

 

Under the direction of Tony Award®-winner David Cromer, from the original screenwriters Clooney and Grant Heslov, Good Night, and Good Luck chronicles a time in American history when truth and journalistic integrity stood up to fearmongering and disinformation—and won. This strictly limited engagement begins performances March 2025.

 

SYNOPSIS:

Tune in to the golden age of broadcast journalism and Edward R. Murrow’s legendary, history-altering, on-air showdown with Senator Joseph McCarthy. As McCarthyism casts a shadow over America, Murrow and his team at CBS choose to confront the growing tide of paranoia and propaganda, even if it means turning the federal government and a worried nation against them.
