뉴욕, 파리, 런던, 밀라노...새 컬렉션을 소개하는 패션쇼의 모델들은 대개 마네킹처럼 무표정하다. 영화 속의 패션은 스토리 속의 캐릭터를 보완해주며, 강화해주는 역할을 한다. 

영화 '나이애가라'에서 지하철 환풍기에 날린 마릴린 먼로의 흰 원피스, '티파니에서 아침을'에서 오드리 헵번의 블랙 드레스는 클래식이다. '애니 홀'의 다이앤 키튼은 셔츠에 넥타이, 조끼에 바지로 1970년대 페미니스트 뉴요커의 아이콘이 됐다. 

동화는 각색된 영화를 통해서 상상 속의 패션이 생생하게 재현된다.  '오즈의 마법사'의 도로시나 신데렐라의 화려한 변신은 패션 자체가 스토리 텔러의 역할을 한다. FIT 뮤지엄에서 열리고 있는 '동화 속 패션(Fairy Tale Fashion)'의 하이라이트를 소개한다.
