메트로폴리탄오페라를 비롯, 코벤트 가든, 베를린 국립오페라, 비엔나국립오페라, 밀라노 라스칼라 등지에서 주역을 맡았던 러시아 출신 마리나 파플라프스카야(Marina Poplavskaya)가 부동산 중개인으로 변신해 화제다. 파플라프스카야는 결혼 후 남편의 성을 딴 'Marina Poplavskaya Guedouar' 이름으로 시티하비타츠(Citi Habitats)에서 부동산을 거래하고 있다.

파프라스카야는 2007년 런던 코벤트 가든에서 수퍼스타 안나 네트레브코의 대타로, 이듬해엔 안젤라 게오르규의 대타로 무대에 올랐다. 같은 해 메트로폴리탄 오페라의 '전쟁과 평화'의 나타샤로 데뷔한 후 '투란도트' '라 트라비아타' '돈 카를로' 등에 출연했다. 그리고, 2014년부터 활동을 중단했었다.
