'기생충' 2019 미 외국어영화상 휩쓴다
한해를 결산하는 12월, 올해의 영화상이 연이어 발표되고 있다. 2019 칸영화제 황금종려상 수상 후 미 아카데미상 작품상 물망에 오르고 있는 봉준호 감독의 '기생충(Parasite)'이 뉴욕비평가협회와 미비평가협회의 최우수 외국어영화상으로 선정됐다.
두 협회는 마틴 스콜세지 감독의 '아이리시맨(The Irishman)'을 최우수 영화로 선정했다.
그리고, 외국어영화상 부문이 없는 미영화협회(American Film Institute)는 2019 톱 10 영화 외에 '기생충'에 특별상을 헌사했다.
한편, 뉴욕타임스의 두 영화비평가 A.O. 스캇(A.O. Scott)과 마놀라 다지스(Manohla Dargis)가 2019 톱 10 영화에서 봉준호 감독의 '기생충'을 3위에 선정했다. A.O. 스캇은 "현 세상의 상황을 이토록 슬프게, 영화의 상태를 이토록 기쁘게 보여준 영화를 생각할 수 없다"라고, 마놀라 다지스는 "오늘날 세계에서 가장 위대한 감독 중의 한명에 의해 완벽하게 연출된 영화다. 당신이 영화가 무엇인지 알고 싶다면, 이 영화를 보시라"고 평했다.
'기생충'은 12월 8일 LA비평가협회 작품상, 감독상을 수상했다. 외국어 영화상은 페드로 알모도바르의 '고통과 영광'이 받았다. 이어 '기생충'은 9일 골든글로브상 외국어영화, 감독, 각본상 후보에 올랐다.
