We are pleased to offer stipends in the amount of $5,250 to all summer 2020 interns.

We welcome candidates of all backgrounds to apply.

The application deadline for summer 2020 internships is February 7, 2020.

Internship Program Description

The objective of the Guggenheim Museum Internship Program is to provide practical training experience to individuals interested in pursuing careers in the arts and museum fields. Interns gain a broad understanding of how a particular department functions within the context of a major museum, as well as specific skills related to that departments activities. Interns are assigned based on academic background, professional skills, interests, and career goals. Under the supervision of designated staff members, interns participate in the ongoing work of museum departments, complete individual projects, and contribute to larger Guggenheim initiatives. For a list of departments that offer internships, please see: www.guggenheim.org/internships. Please note that not all departments offer internships every program cycle.

Museum Culture Seminars

Museum Culture Seminars form an integral part of our Internship Program. Site visits to other New York arts and cultural institutions, and discussions with a wide array of arts and museum professionals are facilitated. A field trip outside of New York City is planned for the end of each internship period.

In addition to completing the online form, applicants will be asked to submit the following materials:

Résumé

Cover letter, including an explanation of your interest in three specific departments

Proof of enrollment at an accredited academic institution

Academic writing sample (3–5 pages) OR design portfolio (website or PDF), if applying to the Graphic Design or Exhibition Design departments
