코로나 팬데믹으로 올 3월 초 아모리쇼 이후 아트페어들이 줄줄이 취소되고, 뉴욕의 미술관과 갤러리들이 5개월 이상 봉쇄됐다. 올해 상반기 미술품 판매는 평균 36% 감소했으며, 직원들은 1/3 가량 해고됐다. 그리고, 갤러리의 2%는 영구 폐관한 것으로 나타났다. 경기 후퇴로 인해 내년 아트 페어도 불투명한 것으로 알려졌다.
