Pianist Yunchan Lim To Make His NY Phil Debut

The New York Philharmonic announces that conductor Tugan Sokhiev has withdrawn from his scheduled New York Philharmonic appearances, May 10–12, 2023, due to a scheduling conflict. “Sokhiev looks forward to returning to the New York Philharmonic in the future,” said a representative for the conductor.

James Gaffigan will now conduct those subscription concerts. Rather than the previously scheduled Shostakovich Symphony No. 7, Leningrad, the program will include Prokofiev’s Third Symphony and Rachmaninoff's Third Piano Concerto, featuring pianist Yunchan Lim — Gold Medalist at the 2022 Van Cliburn Competition — in his NY Phil debut.
