Plays Rachmaninoff with NY Philharmoic in May 

2022 밴클라이번 콩쿠르 금메달 수상직후 스타덤에 오른 '우리 시대 천재 피아니스트' 임윤찬(Yunchan Lim, 18)씨가 1월 18일 런던 위그모어홀(Wigmore Hall) 리사이틀부터 2023 콘서트 투어 여정을 시작한다.   

런던 시간 18일 오후 8시 위그모어홀에서 열리는 임윤찬씨의 런던 데뷔 콘서트는 무료로 라이브 스트림된다. 뉴욕 시간 오후 3시, LA 시간 정오,  서울 시간 19일 오전 5시 위그모어홀 웹사이트 ( https://wigmore-hall.org.uk/watch-listen/live-stream )나 유튜브 채널을 통해 시청할 수 있다. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJeGcWZ-K5Q ) 

위그모어홀 프로그램은 영국 작곡가 존 다우랜드(John Dowland, 1563-1626)의 "Pavana Lachrymae"(William Byrd 편곡), 바흐(Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685-1750)의 "바흐 15개의 신포니아 BWV787-801(15 Sinfonias BWV787-801)", 그리고 인터미션 후에 베토벤(Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827)의 " 7개의 바가텔 Op. 33(7 Bagatelles Op. 33)"와 "15개의 영웅 변주곡과 푸가 내림E장조, Op.35(15 Variations and a Fugue on an Original Theme in E flat 'Eroica Variations' Op. 35)"로 구성됐다.

위그모어홀은 1901년 독일의 피아노 회사 베크스타인(Bechstein)이 위그모어 스트릿의 쇼룸 옆에 건축하며 거리 이름을 따서 명명됐다. 552석의 아담한 사이즈로 피아노, 체임버, 성악 리사이틀의 명당이다. 페루치오 부조니를 비롯, 아서 루빈스타인, 카미유 생상, 세르게이 프로코피예프, 벤자민 브리튼이 다녀갔다. 필자가 2006년 체임버 콘서트에 갔을 때는 청중 속에 피아니스트 미츠코 우치다의 모습도 보였다.  https://wigmore-hall.org.uk

5월 10-12일 뉴욕필하모닉과 라흐마니노프 콘체르토 3번 협연

임윤찬씨는 오는 5월 10일부터 12일까지 뉴욕필하모닉과의 협연으로 뉴욕에 공식 데뷔한다. 그는 10일과 11일 오후 7시30분,  12일 오후 2시 링컨센터 데이빗게펜홀에서 뉴욕필과 밴클라이번 결승 연주곡인 라흐마니노프 피아노 콘체르토 3번(Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3)을 협연할 예정이다. 제임스 개피건(James Gaffigan)이 지휘하는 뉴욕필은 이와 함께 프로코피예프의 교향곡 3번(Symphony No. 3)을 선사한다.
