메트로 노스 기차와 지하철이 연결되는 맨해튼 그랜드센트럴터미널역에 LIRR(롱아일랜드레일로드)역 그랜드센트럴매디슨역이 1월 25일 개통됐다. 120억 달러가 투여된 이 역은 2008년 시공되어 15년이 걸렸다. 지상에서 17층 지하에 자리한 기차역. 이젠 펜스테이션까지 돌아가지 않아도 롱아일랜드로 갈 수 있게 된다. 현재는 자메이카역까지 기차가 운행되며, 완전히 개통되면 그랜드센트럴에서 몬탁까지 갈 수 있다. 그랜드센트럴매디슨역 콩코스엔 야요이 쿠사마의 벽화 'A Message of Love, Directly from My Heart onto the Universe'가 설치되었다.
