뉴욕한국문화원x링컨센터 공동주최 'K-Pop Dance Night'

뉴욕한국문화원(원장 김천수)은 링컨센터와 공동으로 5월 5일 오후 7시 30분 데이비드 루벤스타인 아트리움에서 <K-Pop Dance Night> 프로그램을 연다. 지난 3월 공연에 이어 두 번째로 개최되는 이번 <K-Pop Dance Night>는 미 의회가 지정한 5월 “아시아·태평양계 미국인 문화유산의 달”을 기념하는 테마로 진행되어 더욱 의미가 크다. 

 

이번 행사에서는 DJ 첸(CHEN)이 NCT, 세븐틴, 스트레이 키즈 등 아시아계 멤버들이 포함된 다양한 K팝 그룹의 곡들로 플레이리스트를 구성하여 특별한 댄스파티를 이끌 예정이다. 어린 시절부터 10여 년간 첼로, 트럼펫, 트롬본 등의 다양한 악기를 연주하며 음악성을 기른 DJ 첸은 8년 여의 DJ 경력을 갖고 있다. 현재 뉴욕에서 주목받고 있는 차세대 DJ로, 뉴저지와 필라델피아 소재의 여러 공연장과 클럽에서도 디제잉을 이끌고 있으며, 노르웨이 대표 DJ인 알렌 워커의 세트를 보조하기도 했다. 

 

더불어 이번 <K-Pop Dance Night>에서는 뉴욕대학교 K팝 댄스팀인 “KNESIS”와 스토니브룩대학교 “KBS Dance Team”이 참여하여 멋진 공연과 함께 K팝 포인트 안무를 가르칠 예정이다. <K-Pop Dance Night>의 관람은 무료이나 선착순으로 입장이 마감된다.

K-pop music has already influenced every kind of contemporary sound, from the Billboard charts to the Broadway stage. K-Pop's unstoppable beats and powerful melodies take over Lincoln Center for a dance party series designed for all fans of the genre. 

 

The evening begins with a short movement tutorial and a dazzling showcase presentation, so bring a friend or meet a new one on the dance floor and prepare to live out all your K-Pop dreams! 

 

For this celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month show, DJ CHEN will curate a set of songs performed by Korea's amazing groups with members from various AAPI backgrounds including NCT, SEVENTEEN, and Stray Kids.

 

Iconic K-Pop cover groups led by students from New York University (KNESIS) and Stony Brook University (KBS Dance Team) will showcase amazing performances followed up by a step-by-step choreography session. Get ready to dance the night away!
