2022 밴클라이번 국제 피아노 콩쿠르를 임윤찬(Yunchan Lim, 19)이라는 수퍼스타를 탄생시킨 대회였다. 그해 6월 당시 18세의 피아니스트 임윤찬은 클라이번 콩쿠르 사상 최연소로 금메달을 땄다. 파이널에서 마린 알솝이 지휘하는 포트워스 심포니 오케스트라와 협연한 라흐마니노프 피아노 협주곡 3번은 순식간에 이 작품 중 가장 많이 본 동영상이 됐으며, 뉴욕타임스에 의해 "2022 최고의 클래식 음악 연주" 중 하나로 선정됐다. 2022 콩쿠르 유튜브는 클라이번 채널에서 177개국 4천만회 이상의 조회수를 기록했다.

한편, 2022 밴클라이번 콩쿠르를 다룬 헤더 윌크(Heather Wilk) 감독의 다큐멘터리 '크레센도(Crescendo)'가 지난 8월 12일 제19회 제천국제음악영화제에서 세계 최초로 상영됐다. 이 영화에서 임윤찬은 "계속 이 음악을 할 수 있는 이유는, 그저 음악이 이 세상에서 가장 아름답다고 생각하기 때문에…. 그것(아름다움)을 이 현실 세계에서 꺼내기 위해서는 그런 어려운 일도 음악가의 사명이라고 생각합니다.”라고 말한다. https://filmfreeway.com/CrescendoDoc
