브루클린 캐롤가든의 121년 된 시칠리아 레스토랑 페르디난도스 포카체리아(Ferdinando's Focacceria)가 새 주인을 맞게 됐다.

eater.com에 따르면, 이웃에서 카페 스파게티(Cafe Spaghetti)를 운영하는 살 람보글리아(Sal Lamboglia)가 인수할 예정으로 알려졌다. 람보글리아는 이 동네에 비스트로 스우니즈(Swoony’s), 광동식 미국식당 살 탕즈(Sal Tang’s)를 소유하고 있다.

인수자는 건강이 쇠약해진 주인 프란체스코 "프랭크' 부파(Francesco “Frank” Buffa)씨가 직접 선정한것으로 알려졌다. 구 페르디난도즈 포카체리아의 시그내쳐 메뉴인 스페셜 라이스볼(Rice Ball Special)이 돌아오기를 바랄 뿐. <2025. 3. 18. 업데이트>

121년 역사 시칠리아 식당 페르디난도스 포카체리아(Ferdinando’s Focacceria) 폐업

브루클린 캐롤가든의 121년 된 시칠리아 식당 페르디난도스 포카체리아(Ferdinando’s Focacceria)가 페이스북을 통해 폐업을 선언했다. BQE(브루클린-퀸즈 고속도로) 인근 151 유니온스트릿에 자리한 페르니단도스 포카체리아는 우리가 도로 여행을 갈 때 늘 리코타 치즈가 올려진 특 라이스 볼(Rice Ball Special)을 즐겨 주문했던 곳이다. 

페르디난도스 포카체리아는 마틴 스콜세지 감독, 레오나르도 디카프리오 주연작 '디파티드(Departed, 2006)'의 촬영지이기도 했다. 레오나르도 디카프리오와 주인장이 찍은 사진도 벽에 게시되어 있었다.

To our dear and valued patrons:

Due to unforeseen circumstances, our family has made the decision to permanently cease the operation of Ferdinando’s.

It was a decision that was both difficult and painful.  But nonetheless necessary.

Rendering a 121 year institution such as ours a fond memory cannot come without a mix of emotions.Fading into The Red Hook sunset quietly, without fanfare, was felt to be a proper and discreet finish. We apologize for not providing an opportunity to savor a last meal with us and to say goodbye.

We wish to thank the generations of patrons, generations of families, for their business and support. We hope you will remember Ferdinando’s Focacceria fondly.
