'8월의 크리스마스'(1998), '봄날은 간다'(2001)의 허진호(Hur Jin-ho) 감독이 뉴욕에서 관객과 만난다. 허 감독은 4월 24일 맨해튼 소호의 독립영화관 안젤리카필름센터(Angelika New York, 18 West Houston St.)에서 개봉되는 '보통의 가족(A Normal Family. 2023)'의 24일(오후 7시 10분), 25일(오후 7시) 상영 후 관객과 질의응답 시간을 열 예정이다.

 

네덜란드 작가 헤르만 코흐(Herman Koch)의 소설 '디너(Het diner/ The Dinner)'를 각색한 '보통의 가족'은 변호사(설경구 분)와 소아과 의사(장동건) 형제와 변호사 부인 번역가(김희애), 의사의 두번째 부인(수현, 클라우디아 김)이 아이들(동갑내기 사촌형제)의 범죄 현장이 담긴 CCTV를 보면서 벌어지는 이야기다. 2023 토론토 국제영화제에서 상영됐다. 상영시간 1시간 56분. 

 

헤르만 코흐의 원작은 부모의 맹목적 사랑과 보호, 인간의 욕망와 위선을 예리한 시선으로 통찰한다는 평가를 받았으며 네덜란드, 이탈리아, 미국에서 영화로 제작됐다.
