Joyce DiDonato Stars in First-Ever Met Performances of 
Massenet’s Retelling of the Cinderella Story 

Cendrillon will be transmitted live around the world on April 28, 
the last in the current series of The Met: Live in HD

New York, NY (April 9, 2017) – For the first time in its history, the Met will present Cendrillon, Jules Massenet’s 1899 operatic adaptation of the classic Cinderella story, with performances beginning April 12, 2018. Joyce DiDonato stars in the title role, conducted by Bertrand de Billy in a staging by Laurent Pelly. The cast also features Kathleen Kim as the Fairy Godmother, Alice Coote as Prince Charming, Stephanie Blythe as the evil stepmother Madame de la Haltière, and Laurent Naouri as Pandolfe. Eight performances run through May 11, with the April 28 matinee transmitted throughout the world as part of the Met’s Live in HD series.

Same-day $25 rush tickets for all performances of Cendrillon are available on a first-come, first-served basis on the Met’s Web site. Tickets will go on sale for performances Monday-Friday at noon, matinees four hours before curtain, and Saturday evenings at 2pm.
