New York Photo Show
Photography lovers – if you are in or near NYC on Friday March 31 or Saturday April 1st
, we recommend a visit to the 8th annual New York Photography Show. There you can meet dealers from the US, Europe and Australia who will display for sale a variety of original photographs and photography books. There will be photographs by famous photographers that show aspects of photography as an art, as well as vernacular photographs of historic interest, or that illustrate issues of social history. They will range from the earliest photographic processes, salted-paper images and daguerreotypes, down to the work of contemporary artists. A peek at some the offerings are shown below.
The dealers will be happy to discuss their photographs as well as issues that relate to your advanced or beginning collection. On Saturday, the Friday dealers will be joined by a wholly new second contingent of additional exhibitors, making for two varied days of photographic activity.
The show takes place in a sumptuous ballroom of the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel, at 7th Avenue and 53d Street. The “Seventh Avenue” station of the B, D and E subway is right on the corner, and other subway and bus stations are close by.
The show opens at 10:00 a.m. each day. Early admission is possible on Fridayat 9:00. The shows closes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is only $6.00 and is good for both days. The early admission on Friday costs $15.00.
