에릭 아담스 시장이 2025 회계년도 예산에서 도서관과 문화단체 기자금 지원 5천830만 달러를 복원한다. 이에 따라 지난해 11월 2024 회계년도 예산삭감으로 일요일에 폐관해왔던 공립 도서관들이 다시 문을 열 예정이다. 아담스 시장은 당시 뉴욕시에 망명 신청자에 투여된 14억 5천만 달러의 비용 때문에 도서관 예산 삭감이 필요하다고 주장했었다.
