LA 한인사회가 시 당국의 코리아타운 내 홈리스 셸터 설치안에 강력히 반발하고 있다.
에릭 가세티 LA 시장과 허븐 웨슨 LA 시의회의장은 최근 도심 버몬트와 7가 주변 시영 주차장에 임시 홈리스 셸터를 설치하는 안을 발표했다.

LA 시장 에릭 가세티는 5월 2일 윌쇼어/버몬트 지하철역에서 1블럭이 채 안되는 코리아타운에 긴급 홈리스 셸터를 오픈할 예정이라고 발표했다. LA홈리스서비스국에 따르면, 지난해 ㅏ운실 디스트릭트 10의 홈리스 인구는 1500여명으로 전년 대비 36% 증가한 것으로 조사됐다.
