스페인 출신 배우 안토니오 반데라스가 파블로 피카소 전기 뮤지컬을 기획 중이다. 플레이빌에 따르면, 반데라스는 최근 희곡작가 카리다드 스비치, '위키드' 작가 스티븐 슈와츠와 논의 중인 것으로 알려졌다. 연출은 고든 그린버그가 물망에 올라있다.  반데라스와 피카소는 고향이 말라가라는 공통점도 있다. 반데라스는 2017년 내셔널지오그래픽의 드라마 시리즈 '천재: 피카소(Genius: Picasso)'에 출연하기도 했다.
