알재단, 한미사진영상협회 3인전(진영미, 정궁언, 김석주)

비영리 한인 미술인 지원단체 알재단(AHL Foundation, 대표 이숙녀)이 7월 1일부터 12월 29일까지 ‘한미사진영상협회 그룹 전시회(Korean American Photo Media. Inc Group Exhibition)’를 뱅크오브호프(Bank of Hope) 맨하탄 지점(16 West 32nd St.)에서 연다. 

 

알재단의 '아트 인더 워크 플레이스(Art in the Workplace)' 프로그램의 일환인 이 전시는 한미사진영상협회 회원 3인 (진영미, 정궁언, 김석주) 그룹전으로 작가가 자신의 삶과 사진이 어떻을 어떻게 연결하는지 알아 볼 수 있다. 

 

진영미 작가는 청록의 자연 속의 아우라에서 영감을 얻어 인간의 삶을 사진을 통해 관조한다. 정궁언 작가는 사진을 통해 자연의 법칙과 자연의 섭리를 배우고 있음을 고백한다. 그는 사진이 자연과 인생의 순간을 담는 매개체로서 사람들에게 즐거움을 줄 수 있음을 피력한다. 김석주 작가는 제 시간이 되면 뜨고 지는 해와 달을 기다리는 섬세한 감정과 마음가짐을 사진으로 표현하였다. 3인의 사진 작품을 통해 바쁜 일상 속 쉽게 잊고 사는 삶 속에서의 자연과 이치를 사진을 통해 느껴볼 수 있다.

 

2019년 창립된 한미사진영상협회(Korean American Photo Media.lnc)는 30명의 회원으로 구성됐으며 사진 문화 교류, 협회전, 한인 단체 사진 봉사, 및 사진 교육 등을 진행한다.  

 

아트 인 워크 플레이스 프로그램은 누구나 일상의 상업 공간에서 한국 현대 미술 작품을 감상 할 수 있도록 알재단과 뱅크오브호프 (Bank of Hope)의 파트너십으로 기획 되었다. 전시는 뱅크오브호프 맨하탄 지점 운영 시간 내(9:00 AM –4:00 PM) 관람 가능 하다. 전시 관련 및 작품 구매 등 문의사항은 info@ahlfoundation.org

New York, NY.  AHL Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting Korean artists, is proud to announce the "Korean American Photo Media, Inc. Group Exhibition" as part of its Art in the Workplace program. The exhibition will take place at Bank of Hope's Manhattan branch located at 16 West 32nd Street, New York, NY 10001.

 

The exhibition showcases the works of three Korean American Photo Media, Inc. members, namely George Jung, Andrew Sokchu Kim, Youngmi Jin, in a captivating group exhibition that explores how the artists' lives are interconnected with their photography. Youngmi Jin draws inspiration from the azure aura of nature to reflect upon human life through her photographs. Geory Jung confesses to learning the laws and order of nature through his photography, asserting that photographs can bring joy to people by capturing the moments of nature and life. Meanwhile, Andrew Sokchu Kim captures delicate emotions and mindsets as he expresses his anticipation of the rising and setting sun and moon in his photographs. Through the artworks of these three talented artists, visitors can sense the essence of nature amidst their busy everyday lives.

 

This exhibition is part of AHL Foundation's Art in the Workplace program, which aims to make Korean contemporary art accessible to all within the commercial spaces of daily life. Thanks to the partnership between AHL Foundation and Bank of Hope, visitors can enjoy the exhibition at Bank of Hope's Manhattan branch until June 30, 2023, during operating hours (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM).
