필라뮤지엄 특별전 일월오봉도, 무신진찬도 테마 작품 영감

뉴욕의 플라워 디자이너 클레어 강(Claire Won Y. Kang, 한국 이름 이원영)씨와 미플라워디자인협회(AIFD, American Institute of Floral Design)가 필라델피아뮤지엄의 특별전 '조선왕조대전'을 주제로 제작한 작품이  2014 필라델피아 플라워쇼에서 '베스트 인 쇼 특별 성취상(PHS Philadelphia Flower Show Cup, Best Floral, Best in Show Award)를 수상했다.

미술과 원예의 만남 'ARTiculture'를 주제로 한 2014 플라워쇼에선 클레어 강씨가 자문 겸 디자이너로 참가, '조선왕조대전(Treasures from Korea: Arts and Culture of the Joseon Dynasty: 1392-1910)'의 전시작 중 일월오봉도와 무신진찬도를 모티프로 작품을 디자인했다.

 

AIFD의 출품작은  '일월오봉도'(데이빗 사이더 디자인), 무신진찬도(론 멀레이&아드리안 프레스티 디자인), 명성황후(수 와이저&윌리엄 머레이 주니어 디자인), 달항아리(다니엘 본&데릭 드마타스 디자인), 강씨가 디자인한 '글로벌 댄서(Global Dancer)'와 한글(마이클 오닐 디자인)을 타이틀로 선보였다.

클레어 강씨는 이화여자대학교 생활미술과 졸업 후 펜실베니아아카데미오브 화인아트에서 회화를 전공했으며, 브롱스의 뉴욕식물원에서 강의해왔다.

필라원예협회(PHS)가 주최하는 2014 필라델피아 플라워쇼는 1일부터 9일까지 펜실베니아 컨벤션 센터에서 열린다. http://theflowershow.com
