Musicians from Ensemble Connect will perform as part of Yellow Barn’s pop up concert outside Carnegie Hall on Seventh Avenue between 56th and 57th Streets on Friday, May 26 from 12:45–2:30 p.m. The concert is part of a 10-day tour of sidewalk, plaza, and neighborhood performances in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx, presented by Yellow Barn, an international center for chamber music based in Vermont. The performance will take place on the Yellow Barn Music Haul, the first traveling stage of its kind built to unfold from a U-Haul truck, and features current fellows and alumni of Ensemble Connect alongside Yellow Barn musicians. Ensemble Connect, which celebrates its 10th anniversary during the 2016–2017 season, also performs as part of the “Music No Boundaries: NYC” tour on May 24 at PS21 and JHS185 in Queens,May 25 at Bathgate Community Garden in the Bronx, and May 31 at the Boulevard Family Residence in Queens. The group is made up of some of the finest young professional musicians from across the country, who are taking part in a two-year fellowship created by Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and the Weill Music Institute in partnership with the New York City Department of Education.

Beginning with the purchase of an old U-Haul, Yellow Barn's team devised a self-contained, traveling concert venue called ‘Music Haul’ to bring music to people everywhere. Designed for as many as six musicians, it is fully-equipped with interior and exterior performance spaces, a high quality internal / external sound system, video capabilities, and climate-controlled passenger and storage areas, including storage for percussion, string instruments, and a piano.
