NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC ENSEMBLES AT MERKIN CONCERT HALL
Season Continues with Three Concerts
February 18, April 15, and May 27, 2018


Musicians from the New York Philharmonic To Perform Works by
Brahms, Debussy, Reinecke, and Vivaldi, Among Others

The 34th season of the New York Philharmonic Ensembles series — chamber concerts showcasing Musicians from the Orchestra performing classical masterpieces and modern compositions in the intimate setting of Merkin Concert Hall — will continue on Sunday, February 18, 2018. The concert will include Beethoven’s String Trio, Op. 9, No. 1; Debussy’s Sonata for Flute, Viola, and Harp; and Fibich’s Quintet, Op. 42.

The Ensembles series continues on Sunday, April 15, 2018, with a concert featuring LeClair’s Sonata in E minor for Two Violins, Op. 3, No. 5; Fauré’s Piano Quartet No. 1 in C minor; and Brahms’s Piano Quartet No. 1. The final performance of the season, Sunday, May 27, 2018, will feature Vivaldi’s Trio Sonata, Op. 1, No. 3; Krzysztof Penderecki’s Duo concertante for Violin and Double Bass; Reinecke’s Trio for Oboe, Horn, and Piano; and Brahms’s Piano Trio No. 1.

Since 1984 the New York Philharmonic Ensembles series has allowed audiences to experience the artistry of the Philharmonic’s virtuosos in an intimate setting. Ensembles concerts are also offered on the Orchestra’s international and domestic tours, on separate chamber music tours, and at locations throughout New York City.
