Drop in and try your hand at drawing in the Frick’s beautiful, indoor Garden Court. Meet in the Garden Court at 4:00 p.m. or after. Drawing programs are for individuals of all skill levels, ages ten years and older. Paper, graphite pencils, erasers, drawing boards, and gallery stools are provided. Photography and Public Monuments Thursday, July 12, 5:30 – 7 p.m. Taught by Rika Burnham and Michael Bodycomb, The Frick Collection
This conceptual and practical investigation of the photography of public monuments is inspired by the special exhibition Canova’s George Washington. Participants will draw on the resources of the Frick Art Reference Library’s Photoarchive and view public statuary in Central Park.
Cast in Bronze Thursday, July 19, 6 – 7:30 p.m. Taught by Caitlin Henningsen and Alexander J. Noelle, The Frick Collection
Bronze statuettes and portrait medals are small in scale, yet monumental in effect. In this class, students will closely examine outstanding sculptures made for the private studies and grand galleries of the Renaissance elite.
