2015년 오프브로드웨이(세인트 클레멘츠 시어터) 사상 최초로 전아시안 배우 캐스트로 공연됐던 창작 뮤지컬 '컴포트 우먼(Comfort Women)'이 리바이벌된다. '컴포트 우먼'은 오는 7월 20일부터 9월 2일까지 42스트릿 피터 제이 샤프 시어터에서 공연된다.

일제 강점기 당시 위안부 여성들의 고행을 담은 이 뮤지컬은 디모 김(김현준) , 오스커 데이빗 아귀레, 조안 말로리 미세스가 극본을 써고, 브라이언 마이클스와 박태호씨가 작곡했다. 연출은 디모 김. 캐스트는 아비게일 최 아라더, 매티우스 팅, 리나 래 콘셉시온, 로니 셸리 페레즈, 케니 메이, 벤 왕, 사라 엘리자베스 스테이츠, 에밀리 수, 클로이 라이스, 슈얀 양, 샘 하마쉬마, 매튜 보티스타, 매튜 팅, 텐진 예시 등이 출연한다. https://www.dimokimfactory.org/tickets

Comfort Women: A New Musical is about Korean Comfort Women who were sold as sex slaves for the Imperial Japanese Army during WWII. The story revolves around a young Korean woman, Goeun, who was promised a job in Japan, but is soon transported to Indonesia as one of the comfort women. The audience witnesses how such a tragedy can permanently and painfully transform the life of a young woman.

As the first ever all-Asian Off-Broadway cast led by an East Asian director, the show sold out in 2015 and was nominated for Best Off-Broadway Musical by BroadwayWorld.
