FALL MUSIC AT SCANDINAVIA HOUSE

New York, NY—Scandinavia House is happy to announce its Fall 2018 music lineup! This season includes a variety of classical music performances from returning favorites such as Jeffrey Siegel, Lana Suran, and Per Tengstrandwith Princeton chamber music group Opus 21. We'll also feature and Play, a duo performing original compositions with alternate intonation, and our annual holiday concert. 

Internationally acclaimed pianist Jeffrey Siegel returns to SH for his Keyboard Conversations series starting September 27 with a performance of Rachmaninoff and Debussy. The series will continue through the winter and fall. Lana Suran joins us on October 4 for a solo performance of works by Bach, Prokofiev, and Rachmaninoff. On October 23, the NYC-based music duo andPlay, featuring Maya Bennardo on violin and Hannah Levinson on viola, join us for "Translucent Harmonies," a program of two new commissioned pieces composed in just intonation by Catherine Lamb and Kristofer Svensson.

Beginning on October 25, Swedish pianist Per Tengstrand returns to the stage to continue his Music on Park Avenue concert series with a special presentation of all five of Beethoven's concerti, performed with musicians from Princeton University chamber music group Opus 21. The series continues with performances on November 10 & 29, with the final two concerti in early 2019. And introducing the holiday season on December 9 is our annual Holiday Concert, with a Saint Lucia procession from members of the Swedish Church Choir.
