For the first time ever, the Cliburn comes to Dallas in 2019, bringing the world’s greatest 13-to 17-year-old pianists! The Cliburn Junior will feature four riveting rounds of Competition, including another collaborative first: the finalists will perform with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Ruth Reinhardt at the Meyerson Symphony Center in a stunning conclusion on June 8.

ABOUT THE 2019 JUNIOR COMPETITION

The second edition of the Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition and Festival will take place May 31–June 8, 2019, in Dallas, Texas, on the campus of SMU. These 13–17 year old pianists will compete with the best of the best in four rounds for the chance to be awarded scholarships and prizes totaling more than $40,000. The three finalists will perform full concertos with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Ruth Reinhardt at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.

June 2–3, 2019—Quarterfinal Round (SMU)
