YAGP fulfills its mission of ensuring the future of dance through scholarship auditions, master classes, alumni services, educational and outreach activities, performances, and films. Each year YAGP travels the globe searching for talented young dancers. The season culminates in the week-long NYC Finals, where more than 1,200 of the most promising young artists receive in-depth mentoring and greater scholarship, professional, and performance opportunities. Wednesday, April 17 is the FINAL ROUND of the international ballet scholarship competition. Thursday, April 18 and Friday, April 19 the YAGP 20th ANNIVERSARY GALA, “Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow,” features the stars of today’s leading dance companies alongside the winners of the international ballet competition. This year, Principal Dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet, Olga Smirnova, will lead an all-star cast for the special 20th Anniversary edition of the YAGP Gala.

YAGP will also present the first-ever INTERNATIONAL DANCE SCHOOL FESTIVAL on April 20, 2019 featuring dancers from the world's leading international dance academies.

“Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow” is an annually sold-out, spectacular Gala performance featuring the top winners of the YAGP international student ballet competition and guest stars from the world’s leading dance companies. Hailed by the late Clive Barnes of The New York Post as “the highlight of the New York ballet season,” the Gala performance gives audiences a unique chance to see some the best of the ballet professionals performing today (“STARS OF TODAY”) and the most promising international young dance artists (“STARS OF TOMORROW”). Proceeds from the Gala will go directly toward scholarships for gifted young dance students who wish to pursue a professional career in dance.
