<온스테이지 코리아>는 예술가들에게 공연을 위한 무대를 제공하는 동시에 미국 현지에 한국의 공연예술을 소개하고 알리고자 기획된 문화원의 공연 프로그램입니다. 문화원은 2019년 7월 15일(월)부터 9월 6일(금)까지 2020년 <온스테이지 코리아> 무대에 오를 유망한 예술가 및 예술단체의 공연작품을 모집하고 있습니다. 선발된 예술가에게는 워싱턴 DC 소재 공연장에서 문화원과 공동주최로 공연할 수 있는 기회가 주어집니다.
공모 분야는 음악, 무용, 전통연희, 넌버벌 퍼포먼스 등 다양하며 한국 문화와 관련된 주제나 소재를 담은 우수한 작품을 선보일 수 있는 예술가나 예술단체라면 신청이 가능합니다. 신청을 원하시는 예술가는 2019년 9월 6일(금) 오후 6시까지 공모신청서와 관련 자료를 온라인 지원서를 통해 한국문화원으로 제출해 주시기 바랍니다.
■ 2020년 온스테이지 코리아 행사
● 일정 : 2020년 1월 ~ 2020년 12월(2020년 시즌)
● 장소 : 워싱턴 DC 내 소재하는 공연예술 전문극장
※ 2020년 시즌은 총 4회 행사를 추진할 계획. 세부 날짜와 시간은 공모 결과에 따라 선정된 단체와 상의 후 결정되며 공연장은 공연 장르와 규모 등을 고려해 최종 확정될 예정.
■ 공모일정
● 신청 기간 : 2019년 7월 15일(월) ~ 9월 6일(금), 8주간 모집
● 마감 : 9월 6일(금), 오후 5시(EST)
● 심사 : 9월 중순 ~ 10월 중순
● 최종발표 : 10월 말(예정)
※ 공모 일정은 주최측의 사정에 의해 변경될 수 있으며, 최종 발표는 선정된 예술가나 예술단체에게 개별 통지할 예정
■ 신청자격
● 신청자는 국적이나 연령, 지역적 제한은 없으나, 아래의 조건 중 한 개 이상을 충족시켜야 함
▶ 한국문화와 관련된 주제나 소재가 담긴 우수한 한국의 공연예술을 선보일 수 있는 예술가나 예술단체
▶단원 중에 한 명 이상의 한국인이나 코리안 아메리칸이 포함돼 있는 예술단체
※ 작품의 길이는 최소 60분에서 최대 90분 이내로 제한
※ 프로젝트 단위로 활동하는 예술가 그룹도 신청 가능
※ 펀드레이징이나 기금 마련을 위한 공연작품은 신청 불가
※ 2018~2019 시즌에 선정된 예술가나 예술단체는 향후 2년간 신청 불가
■ 공모분야
● 무용 : 한국무용, 현대무용, 발레, 창작무용, 재즈, 힙합댄스 등
● 음악 : 클래식, 국악, 재즈, 퓨전뮤직, 월드뮤직 등
● 기타 : 전통연희, 넌버벌 퍼포먼스, 인형극, 마임 등
■ 지원사항
● 공연 전문 무대 제공(1회)
● 기술적 지원(음향/조명 장비 대여 및 무대전문인력 지원)
● 소정의 예술가 사례비(문화원 기준에 따라 정액 지원)
● 차량 이동 지원(공항-숙소, 숙소-공연장 이동 지원)
● 현지 홍보 지원(포스터, 리플렛 제작 및 사진/영상 촬영)
※ 문화원은 선정된 예술단체의 항공료, 숙박비, 식비, 일비, 예술가비자 신청비, 리허설 장소 대여료는 원칙적으로 지원하지 않음
■ 공모심사
● 워싱턴한국문화원의 선정 기준에 의거해 공연 관련 전문가들로 구성된심사위원단의 심사를 통해 작품을 선정
■ 심사기준
● 예술성 : 작품의 완성도, 창의성, 질적 수준 등 평가
● 시장 경쟁력 : 현지 공연예술 분야의 진출 가능성 및 대중성 평가
● 사업 적합도 : 문화원 사업의 목적과 취지에 부합하는지 평가
■ 공모방법
● 주요 신청 내용(공연단 및 공연작품 정보, 공연 실적 등)을 문화원 Web-site 온라인 지원서에 기입해 제출(국/영문 각 1부)
● 기타 증빙자료 : 이력서, 사진, 영상 자료 등 예술가나 예술단체의 공연 실적을 증명할 수있는 추가자료 제출 가능
※ 대용량 파일의 증빙자료(예술가 이력서, 사진, 영상 자료 등)는 이메일(2020onstagekorea@gmail.com)로 제출 요망
※ 제출된 서류와 증빙자료는 반환되지 않으며, 기재 사항 중 허위 사실이 있을 경우는 무효로 처리

Open Call for Performing Artists

The Korean Cultural Center Washington, D.C. is hosting its third annual OnStage Korea Open Call, inviting exceptional Korean and Korea-themed performing artists worldwide to showcase their talent in the Capital region during the program’s upcoming 2020 Season. Applications are due by Friday, September 6.
The KCC seeks to give original artists and groups the opportunity to perform for the American public through this open call for OnStage Korea’s 2020 Season. The OnStage Korea program fosters cultural exchange and enhances the visibility of excellent, creative Korean performing arts and artists, presented at venues across the Washington, D.C. Capital region.

■ Performance Season & Venues
The 2020 performance season extends from January to December. A total of four performances are planned for this season. Venues will be major performing arts centers in the Washington, D.C. region, determined based on the type and size of the performance.
■ Qualifications
There are no broad restrictions based on nationality, age, or performance genre/type, however applicants must meet at least one of the following conditions.
● Be an individual artist, group, or non-profit arts organization that can present a live performance related to Korean culture or arts or a Korean cultural theme
● Be an individual artist, group, or non-profit arts organization for which at least one performer is Korean or Korean American
Applicants should also note the following terms and exceptions:
● Performance running time should be between 50 and 90 minutes. Artists applying for a single performance project or as a temporary/project-based group are still eligible to apply (as well as established, regular artists and groups). Performances that aim to raise funds are not eligible.
● Artists who were selected for participation in the 2018 or 2019 OnStage Korea seasons are NOT eligible to re-apply for 2020, and are ineligible for a period of two years following their year of participation.
■ Performing Arts Categories/Genres
● Dance: Modern, Traditional, Korean, Ballet, Jazz, etc.
● Music: Classical, Opera, Korean Traditional, Jazz, Vocal, World Music, etc.
● Other Genres: Traditional Folk Performance, Non-verbal Performance, Puppetry, Mime, etc.
■ Support Provided
● Performance venue (for a one-time event)
● Stage technical production (sound, lighting, stage crew, etc.)
● Nominal artist fees (dependent on selection placement)
● Local Transportation (between the airport, hotel, venue, and KCC, as needed)- Artist Insurance (if required by the venue)
● Promotional (posters, postcards, brochure, photos, video, online, social media, etc.)
※ The Korean Cultural Center Washington, D.C. does not provide for or cover the following potential expenses: airfare, accommodations, daily living expenses, meals, per diem allowance, additional rehearsal space rental fees, application fees and/or materials, travel visas, or other related expenses not listed above under Support Provided.

■ Application Evaluation Method
Applications will be evaluated by a panel of performing arts professionals and experts based on criteria from the Korean Cultural Center Washington, D.C. The evaluation will be based solely on the application contents and any supporting materials submitted.

※ Large format supporting documentation and media (such as video/audio recordings) should be uploaded to a website of your choice, links to which can be entered when completing your online application. Text can be entered in the form when you complete your application. Any documents and materials submitted as part of an application will not be returned. Applicants may be disqualified at any point if any information in their application is found to be false, misleading, or incorrect, or if terms of this guideline document are not adhered to.
