스타 셰프 호세 안드레스(Jose Andres)의 허드슨야즈 스페인 식당 메르카도 리틀 스페인(Mercado Little Spain)의 바텐더(Tina Braunstein)가 최저 임금을 준수하지 않는다며 임금 착취 소송을 제기했다.
한편, 레스토랑 재벌 대니 마이어(Anny Meyer)의 인기 레스토랑 그래머시 태번(Gramercy Tavern)의 전 웨이트레스(Naomi Alexis)는 "black bitch"라는 언사 등 인종차별이 행해지는 적대적인 직장 환경을 폭로하며 고소했다. 대니 마이어의 '유니온스퀘어 호스피탈러티 그룹(Union Square Hospitality Group)' 산하 레스토랑인 그래머시 태번은 지난 7월 성차별로 소송을 당하기도 했다.
