센트럴파크웨스트의 미자연사박물관(American Museum of Natural History) 앞에 서있는 데오도어 루즈벨트의 기마상이 철거될 예정이다. #BlackLivesMatter 운동에 따라 뮤지엄 측이 뉴욕시와 협의해 철거하기로 했다. 1940년 세워진 이 동상에서 루즈벨트는 흑인과 인디언 원주민의 호위를 받고 있는 인종차별적 시각을 담았다.
