#MeToo 운동을 촉발시킨 할리우드 제작자 하비 와인스틴의 피해 여성들이 집단 소송 합의금으로 1천887만5천달러에 합의를 보았다고 버라이어티지가 보도했다.

이 보상금은 피해자 보상 기금으로 돌려져 와인스틴 컴퍼니에서 근무 중 적대적인 직장환경, 성희롱 및 성에 근거한 차별을 경험한 여성들에게 분배될 것으로 알려졌다. 하비 와인스틴의 성폭력을 폭로한 #MeToo 여성은 안젤리나 졸리, 기네스 팰트로, 셀마 헤이약, 우마 서먼, 숀 영, 아나벨라 시오라, 리아 세이두, 미라 소비노, 케이트 벡킨세일, 로잔나 아퀘트, 케이트 블란쳇, 헤더 그레이함, 로렌 홀리, 애슐리 저드, 로즈 맥고완 등 할리우드 스타들을 비롯 100여명이 넘는다. 

한편, 하비 와인스틴은 23년형을 받고 복역 중이다.
