12살 짜리 제자를 강간한 혐의로 7년 징역형을 선고받았던 시애틀 교사 메리 케이 르투르노가 암으로 세상을 떠났다.
기혼녀로 자식을 네명 두었던 메리 케이 르투르노는1996년 6학년생 빌리 푸알라우와 관계에 들어갔고, 푸알라우가 15세 되기 전 두차례 임신한 몸이었다.
22세 차이나는 이 커플은 2005년 결혼했으며, 두딸을 두었다. 이들은 14년 후인 2019년 이혼에 이르렀다. 푸알라우는 DJ로 일하며, 르투루노는 법률 어씨스턴트로 일했다.
