코로나 팬데믹으로 영구 폐업한 뉴욕 업소가 2천800여개에 달하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 뉴욕타임스가 온라인 리뷰 Yelp.com의 자료를 인용한 수치다.
비즈니스 그룹 파트너쉽포뉴욕시의 보고서는 뉴욕시의 소규모 업체 24만개 중 1/3이 폐업할 것으로 전망했었다. 이제까지 사라진 일자리수는 52만개에 달한다.
