MoMA reopens on August 27
We’ve missed you and look forward to welcoming you back to our galleries when MoMA reopens on August 27. For everyone’s health and safety, we’ve made some changes and are limiting capacity.
Entry is by timed ticket only (on sale beginning August 21), with free access through September 27 made possible by UNIQLO. Members receive priority access. MoMA PS1 remains temporarily closed.

Feeling sick?
Anyone feeling unwell or with a temperature at or above 100°F (37.8°C), and their party, will not be admitted.
Travel light.
Our checkroom is closed, and large bags will not be admitted.
Masks are a must.
Staff and visitors (age 2+) are required to wear a mask or face covering.
Enjoy the art, but stay 6 ft. apart.
Maintain social distancing throughout the Museum. Capacity will be limited.
Follow the signs.
Signage, floor markings, and physical barriers will guide you through our spaces.
Connect without contact.
Use your smartphone to access audio, labels, and maps.
Keep clean.
Use our free hand sanitizer, wash your hands frequently, and avoid touching your face.
Hours and arrival
The Museum is open daily, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays are reserved exclusively for members and their guests. Member Early Access, First Thursdays, and Uniqlo Free Friday Nights are currently suspended. MoMA PS1 remains temporarily closed.
Entry is by advance timed ticket only and capacity is extremely limited. Tickets must be reserved online and will not be available at the Museum.
Timed tickets are released one week in advance in one-week blocks, every Friday at 10:00 a.m. EDT, beginning on August 21. Reservations are limited to up to two adult, senior, and student tickets and two children per order. Free access to MoMA through September 27 is made possible by UNIQLO. Members receive priority access, subject to capacity restrictions, and do not need to book tickets in advance. An allocation of timed tickets is reserved for members each hour; guest privileges apply.
Use the main entrance of the Rockefeller Building on 53rd Street, close to Sixth Avenue and just east of our flagship Museum Store. All other entrances are for staff only.
Capacity in our galleries will be limited and visitor flow will be coordinated to maintain social distancing throughout the Museum.
Please arrive during the 30-minute window of your timed ticket. If your plans change and you are unable to visit during your selected day/time, contact tickets@moma.org for a refund or to change your selection.
Your ticket is good for one-time admission only—you may not leave and reenter the Museum.
Our checkroom is closed. Large bags (over 11 × 17 × 5” (28 × 43 × 13 cm) are not permitted in the Museum. All bags will be inspected upon arrival. Please wear backpacks on the front of your chest or carry it to the side.
There are several private parking garages located near MoMA, and some offer special rates for our visitors.

Our collection galleries and exhibitions are always changing, so some works of art may not be on view or selected galleries may be closed for installation.

Our restaurants are temporarily closed. Outside food and beverages are not permitted. See staff picks for where to eat in midtown—we recommend you confirm each establishment’s availability directly.
The Cullman Education and Research Building, Crown Creativity Lab, Heyman Family Art Lab, classrooms, and theaters are currently closed. Films, performances, gallery talks, and other in-person events are currently suspended.
During this time, you can also tune in to our Virtual Views series of online explorations and enjoy Magazine, with artist projects, inside looks, and resources. We’re also sharing art-making activities that you can enjoy from home.
For members
Members receive priority access, subject to capacity restrictions, and do not need to book tickets in advance. An allocation of timed tickets is reserved for members each hour; guest privileges apply. Mondays are exclusively for members: From 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Museum is open to members and their guests only.
For a contactless visit, use your digital membership card. If you need a new digital card or would like to get an updated version, visit membership.moma.org and go to “manage your membership.”
Entry to the Museum will be through the main entrance of the Rockefeller Building, just east of our flagship Museum Store, at 11 West 53rd Street only. The member entrance and checkroom are temporarily closed.

Our policies
We are working to keep you safe and healthy, but we cannot guarantee you won’t be exposed to COVID-19. By entering the Museum you assume the risk of such exposure.
Travelers from states designated by New York State as having significant COVID-19 community spread are required to quarantine for 14 days upon entering New York and may not visit MoMA during this period. See the list of included states here.
For ticket orders impacted by our temporary closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, email tickets@moma.org to reschedule or receive a refund.
Admire artwork from a distance, at least an arm’s length. And no touching art, platforms, or cases (unless a sign or label says it’s okay).
Sketching and writing is allowed in the galleries with pencils only. Please use sketchbooks no larger than 8 ½ by 11 inches.
Still photography is permitted for personal, noncommercial use only unless otherwise noted. Video is not permitted. Flash, tripods, and camera extension poles are not allowed.
Baby strollers are welcome, but stroller access may occasionally be limited in certain galleries. For your safety, strollers are not permitted on MoMA’s escalators and we ask that you not carry children on your shoulders.
