Clara Kang Memorial Fund

한인 간호사 클라라 강(Clara Kang, 31)씨가 지난 10월 3일 오전 7시 30분경 브루클린 선셋파크에서 오토바이에 치어 숨졌다.

클라라 강씨는 근무처인 선셋파크의 NYU 랑고네 호스피털에서 근무를 마치고 퇴근하던 중 사고를 당해 랑고네 호스피털로 이송됐으나 숨을 거두었다. 가해자(29)는 2018 스즈키 GSZ-R을 오토바이를 타고 있었으며, 병원으로 이송됐으나 안정된 상태다.  

클라라 강과 워싱턴대(시애틀) 동창인 친구 엘리인 리가 #GoFundMe로 Clara Kang Memorial Fund에서 기금을 조성 중이다. 8일 오전 10시경 기부자 452명에 3만3천달러가 모였다.  

I am still in shock and denial about the news of Clara’s passing. Not just because I had texted with her the night before, but because of the manner in which it happened.  Clara was killed this morning while riding her bicycle home from the hospital, after working her shift throughout the night.  She was struck by a motorcyclist and transported back to the hospital she had just left.
