코로나 팬데믹 기간 도날드 트럼프의 'China Virus' 발언으로 아시안 대상 혐오 범죄가 증가했을 뿐 아니라, 아시안들은 실업률도 급증한 것으로 나타났다.
아시안아메리칸연맹(AAF)의 조사에 따르면, 올 2월 뉴욕시 아시안아메리칸의 실업률은 3.4%에 불과했다. 이 수치는 5월 중 25.6%로 치솟았다.
