11월 3일 미 대선을 앞두고 결과에 따라 폭동 및 약탈 가능성에 대비해 LA 비버리힐스의 로데오 거리에서 뉴욕의 메이시백화점과 버그도프굿맨 백화점을 비롯, 5애브뉴 명품 부티크, 세포라, 시티뱅크 등 상가 및 은행, 폭스뉴스 등 방송사도 매장 쇼윈도우와 창문을 판자로 막았다. 도날드 트럼프는 이미 조 바이든 민주당 후보가 이기면, 불복 선언을 할 것을 예고한 바 있다.
