워너브라더스 내년 영화 극장/ HBO 스트리밍 동시 개봉

코로나 팬데믹으로 안방극장, 손안의 극장 시대가 활짝 열렸다. 봉쇄됐던 영화관이 문을 열었지만, 관객수가 저조하자 할리우드 메이저 영화사인 워너 브라더스가 '고질라 대 콩' '듄' '매트릭스 4' '수이사이드 스쿼드 2' 등 영화 17편을 2021년 극장 개봉과 동시에 HBO 맥스를 통해 스트리밍 서비스로 제공할 예정이라고 뉴욕타임스가 보도했다. 원래 할리우드 영화의 극장 개봉과 비디오/ 스트림에는 홀드백 기간이 존재했었다.
Warner Bros. will make all its 2021 films available for streaming as they’re released in theaters, a gloomy assessment of moviegoing’s prospects.
The movies — including big-budget extravaganzas like “Suicide Squad 2,” “Godzilla vs. Kong,” “Dune” and “The Matrix 4” — will arrive simultaneously in theaters and on the HBO Max streaming service in the United States.
