스미소니언협회 DC에 남미-여성작가 미술관 설립 추진

백인남성 우월주의에 빠져있던 미국의 미술관들이 다양성을 전폭적으로 수용한다. 미 하원이 올 2월 여성역사 박물관(National Women’s History Museum), 7월 남미 박물관(National Museum of the American Latino) 설립 안을 통과시켰지만, 상원은 12월 10일 투표에서 거부당한 바 있다.
이후 민주당과 공화당은 초당파적인 접근으로 미 정부에 1.4조 달러의 요구, 스미소니엄협회가 워싱턴 DC 산하에 국립 라틴미술관과 여성사 박물관의 설립을 추진할 계획이다.
