코로나 백신 접종 가속화에 따라 뉴욕시가 8개 공공 비치를 메모리얼데이 연휴에 오픈한다. 또한, 옥외 수영장은 6월 26일 개장할 예정이다. 

8개 비치는 

-Coney Island Beach, Manhattan Beach in Brooklyn

-Rockaway Beach in Queens

-Orchard Beach in the Bronx

-Midland, South, Cedar Grove and Wolfe's Pond Park beaches on Staten Island 

그러나, 뉴욕과 뉴저지는 코로나 감염의 44%를 차지하는 5개주(플로리다, 뉴욕, 뉴저지, 펜실베니아, 미시건) 중 2개 주다. 전염력이 강한 영국 발원 코로나 변종이 미국 내에 퍼지고 있어서 주의가 요구된다.
