색면화가 마크 로스코(Mark Rothko, 1903-1970)이 살던 맨해튼 어퍼이스트사이드의 타운하우스(118 East 95th St.)가 749만5천 달러에 매물로 나왔다. 1889년 퀸앤 양식으로 건축된 이 타운하우스는 4베드룸에 정원과 벽난로가 딸려 있다. 

로스코는 1970년 2월 25일 맨해튼 69스트릿 작업실에서 숨진 채 발견됐다. 로스코의 죽음은 자살로 판명됐지만, 타살의 의혹이 남아 지속적인 논란이 되어왔다.
