앤드류 쿠오모 뉴욕주지사가 사임 위기에 몰렸다. 뉴욕주 검찰총장 레티시아 제임스는 3일 쿠오모 주지사가 전현직 여성 공무원 11인에 대해 성폭력을 저질렀다고 발표했다. 조 바이든 대통령은 쿠오모 주지사에게 사임할 것을 촉구했다. 쿠오모 주지사는 지난달 17일 11시간에 걸쳐 검찰의 조사를 받았다. 보고서에 따르면, 피해 여성들은 주지사실 분위기가 가학적이며, 성추행을 폭로한 전 보좌관에 대한 보복도 자행됐다고 전했다. 한편, 뉴욕주의회는 쿠오모 탄핵을 추진 중이다.
