American Documentary Filmmaker and Journalist, Killed in Ukraine 

우크라이나 키예프에서 전쟁을 취재 중이던 기자 브렌트 르노(Brent Renaud, 50)씨가 러시아의 폭격으로 사망했다. 

브렌트 르노씨는 1971년 테네시주 멤피스에서 태어나 아칸소주 리틀록에서 성장했다. 컬럼비아대에서 석사학위를 받았으며, 2019 하버드대저널리즘 펠로우로 선정됐다. HBO, NBC, 뉴욕타임스 등에서 일하면서 이라크 전쟁, 아프가니스탄 전쟁, 멕시코 마약전쟁, 아이티 지진, 이집트와 리비아등 아랍의 정치적 위기 및 #BlackLivesMatter 등을 취재했다. 사망 당시는 타임 스튜디오(Time Studio에서 '글로벌 난민 위기'를 주제로 한 프로젝트를 진행 중이었다. 

브렌트 르노는 동생 크레이그와 시카고 학교에 관한 다큐멘터리 'Last Chance High'(2015)로 피바디상을 수상했으며, 'Off the War: Welcome to Bagdad'(2006)으로 DGA(미감독협회) 다큐멘터리 감독상 후보에 올랐다. 르노 형제는 2005년 리틀록 영화제를 창설했다.

An award-winning American filmmaker and journalist was killed in Ukraine while reporting in a suburb of Kyiv, the authorities said.

The Ukrainian authorities said Brent Renaud, 50, was killed in Irpin, a suburb that has been the site of intense shelling by Russian forces in recent days, but the details of his death were not immediately clear.
