내년은 파블로 피카소(Pablo Picasso, 1981-1973)의 사망 50주기다. 피카소의 모국 스페인과 그가 활동했던 프랑스, 그리고 미국에서 대규모의 특별전전 'The Picasso 1973-2023 Celebration'이 열릴 예정이다. 파리 피카소뮤지엄 디렉터인 세실 드브레이와 안달루시아 피카소뮤지엄의 창립자인 피카소 손자 베르나르 루이즈-피카소와 특별전을 기획했다. 특히 마드리드 레이나소피아뮤지엄에 소장되어 있는 '게르니카(Guernica, 1937)'은 반전의 상징으로 시의적이다. 아트뉴스에 따르면, 내년 유럽과 북미 지역에서 대규모 피카소 전시는 40여개가 알려졌다.
