뉴욕시의 검사들이 사임하고 있다고 뉴욕타임스가 4일 보도했다. 이유는 코로나 팬데믹으로 인한 탈진, 저임금, 그리고 새법의 부담감으로 알려졌다.  

맨해튼 검찰성에선 올해만 44명, 브루클린 검찰청에선 36명, 브롱스는 28명, 스태튼아일랜드는 10명으로 뉴욕시 검찰청 총 검사 500여명 중 약 20%가 사직한 것이다. 

뉴욕시 검사 평균 연봉은 13만 달러, 뉴욕시 대형 로펌의 신입 변호사 초봉은 21만 달러선이다.
