'악단광칠(ADG7)' 섬머 포더 시티 공연

뉴욕한국문화원은 링컨센터와 공동으로 6월 15일(수) 오후 7시 30분 ‘조선팝’ 밴드 “악단광칠(ADG7)”의 야외 공연을 개최한다. “악단광칠”의 이번 공연은 링컨센터 “섬머 포더 시티 (Summer for the City)”의 공식 프로그램의 일환이다. 

 

한국 전통음악 민요와 굿에 K-팝을 파격적으로 혼합한 9인조 밴드 악단광칠은 ‘영정거리’, ‘얼싸’, ‘와대버’, ‘히히’, ‘노자노자’ 등 11곡을 공연할 예정이다. 

뉴욕타임즈는 올 1월 APAP의 글로벌페스트의 라인업(한국, 브라질, 터키, 헝가리, 알제리아, 세네갈, 루이지애나 등)에서 악단광칠을 "전통음악에 케이팝의 요소를 갖춘 아찔한 쇼밴드"라고 소개했다. 

 

뉴욕한국문화원 관계자는 "신개념의 국악 공연으로 뉴욕 내 신한류 열풍을 이끌고 있는 악단광칠 공연을 뉴욕 최고의 공연장인 링컨센터의 무대에 올릴 수 있게 되어 매우 기쁘다. 코로나 팬데믹으로 지친 뉴욕 시민들과 우리 동포들에게 유쾌한 여름밤을 선사할 것으로 기대한다"고 전했다.

 

5월 14일부터 8월 14일까지 열리는 링컨센터 '2022 섬머 포더 시티(Summer for the City)'엔 300여개의 이벤트가 마련됐다.  

악단광칠의 공연은 무료지만 선착순으로 입장이 마감된다. 사전 선착순 티켓 신청은 6월 13일 정오부터.

The nine-piece South Korean ensemble ADG7 (Ak Dan Gwang Chil) draws equal inspiration from newly reclaimed Korean folk styles of gut and minyo and the contemporary Eurocentric stylings of modern K-Pop for music for a mix that will surprise you with its raucous, danceable energy. The band’s charismatic and ultra-fashionably dressed trio of frontwomen are backed by masterfully played traditional Korean instrumentation and present a distinctively theatrical style of performance that's like nothing you've ever heard before, but that you'll never forget. Fresh off of their recent show-stopping Tiny Desk Concert, you won't want to miss the crowd-pleasing sonic sensations that The New York Times calls “catchy, bouncy and brash.”
