HOLIDAY JULBORD WITH BJÖRK CAFE & BISTRO

New York, NY—Celebrate the holidays Scandinavian-style this season with a Holiday Julbord (Christmas Table) on December 10 & 11 and December 23 & 24 presented by Björk Cafe & Bistro at Scandinavia House! A traditional Christmas in Scandinavia is not complete without the traditional julbord, a holiday variation of the quintessential Smörgåsbord buffet-style meal in the Scandinavian countries that includes multiple staples of Swedish cuisine served on the table. The actual Christmas season in Sweden usually begins with the St. Lucia ceremony, around the 13th of December, and leads all the way to Christmas day.

The Björk Julbord will feature a long buffet table overloaded with the Scandinavian classics such as herring, gravlax, meatballs, Jansson’s temptations and more; each lunch and dinner seating will be accompanied by a traditional St. Lucia performance. One cup of glögg is included and will be served upon arrival, with additional non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks available for purchase. Lunch and dinner seatings will take place at 2 PM, 5 PM, and 7:30 PM on Saturday, December 10; seatings will take place at 1 PM, 3:30 PM, and 6 PM on Sunday, December 11, in coordination with the annual Holiday Concert at 5 PM. The Julbord will return on December 23 with seatings at 5:30 PM, and on December 24 with seatings from 12-3 PM and 4-8 PM; reservations can be made here. 

From December 12-22, Björk will further be celebrating the season with a Holiday Plates special, a three-course lunch or dinner comprised of cold and warm delicacies and a dessert plate, for $65; as well as Holiday Fika specials, with traditional saffron buns, ginger snaps and blue cheese, and glögg.
