세계에서 가장 권위있는 와인 전문가 마스터오브와인(Master of Wine)의 2023 시험 문제가 공개됐다. 영국의 마스터오브와인협회(Institute of Masters of Wine)가 주최하는 MW 자격증은 악명높은 난해한 시럼을 거쳐야 한다. MW 시험은 이론과 실기로 구성되어 있다. 올해의 마스터오브와인 응시생 137명은 6월 6일부터 10일까지 4일간 12종의 와인을 블라인드 테이스팅해서 맞추어야 하며, 포도재배학, 발효와 입병 절차, 와인 처리, 와인 사업 및 현대 이슈 등을 주제로 5가지의 와인 이론 논문 시험을 본다.

2023 exam wines and questions published

The Institute of Masters of Wine has published the exam questions from the 2023 MW exam, along with the list of wines from the practical (tasting) portion of the exam.

 

The complete list of wines can be found in the press release, along with the accompanying questions. The questions from the theory component of the MW exam have also been published.

 

Between 6 to 10 June, 137 students sat the exam in one of our three study centres around the world, in London, Napa and Adelaide.

 

The practical and theory exams form the second stage of the MW study programme. Over four days, students sat three 12-wine blind practical papers and five theory papers on the subjects of viticulture; vinification and pre-bottling procedures; handling of wines; the business of wine; and contemporary issues.

 

Those who successfully pass the stage two theory and practical exams will progress to stage three, the research paper, the final stage of the MW study programme.

 

The first step is the stage one assessment, a one-day exam comprising a 12-wine blind tasting exam in the morning and a theory exam in the afternoon. 97 students sat the stage one assessment, which this year was held on 5 June in London and Napa, and 6 June in Adelaide. Students can only progress to stage two of the MW study programme by successfully passing this assessment.
