YUNCHAN LIM: Piano Award(Chopin's Études)/ Young Artist of the Year

피아니스트 임윤찬(Yunchan Lim, 20)이 '클래식 음반의 오스카상'으로 불리우는 그라모폰 클래식음악상(Gramophone Classical Music Awards) 피아노 부문과 올해의 영 아티스트(Young Artist of the Year)를 수상했다. 

임윤찬은 10월 2일 런던에서 열린 2024 그라모폰 클래식음악상에서 올해 출시한 앨범  ‘쇼팽: 에튀드(Chopin's Études, 데카)’로 피아노 부문상을 수상했다. 피아노 부문 최종 후보 3장엔 2022 밴클라이번 콩쿠르에서 연주한 리스트의 ‘초절기교 연습곡(Liszt Études d’exécution transcendante, 스타인웨이&선즈)’ 라이브 앨범도 올랐다. '올해의 영 아티스트'상은 탁월한 재능과 미래를 높이 평가한 것이다. 

올해의 레코드는 바이올리니스트 힐러리 한(Hilary Hahn)의 외젠 이자이(Eugène Ysaÿe) 작곡 'Six Sonatas for Violin Solo', 올해의 아티스트는 소프라노 캐롤린 샘슨(Carolyn Sampson), 올해의 오케스트라는 체크필하모닉(Czech Philharmonic), 올해의 레이블은 오페라 랄라(Opera Rara), 그리고 평생 공로상은 지휘자 클리블랜드 오케스트라 음악감독 마이클 틸슨 토마스(Michael Tilson Thomas)가 수상했다. 

1923년 창간된 클래식 전문지 '그라모폰'은 1977년 상을 제정해 11개 부문(피아노, 피아노 외 기악, 관현악, 오페라, 협주곡, 실내악, 합창, 현대음악, 고음악, 성악&앙상블, 가곡)에 시상해왔다. 한인으로는 바이올리니스트 정경화(1990년 실내악, 1994년 협주곡), 첼리스트 장한나(2003년 협주곡), 바이올리니스트 사라 장(1993년 올해의 젊은 아티스트)이 받았다. 역대 피아노 부문 수상자로는 마우리치오 폴리니, 알프레드 브렌델, 미츠코 우치다, 유자 왕 등이 있다.
