뉴욕필하모닉이 2월 11일 을사년(乙巳年) 설 갈라 콘서트를 연다. 티아니 루(TIanyi Lu)가 지휘하는 이 콘서트에서 바이올리니스트 양인모(Inmo Yang)이 협연한다. 뉴욕필은 진은숙 작곡 오페라 '이상한 나라의 앨리스' 중 "Prologue to A Mad Tea Party", 비제의 카르멘 모음곡 1번 등을 연주할 예정이다. 이 콘서트는 뉴욕필 국제자문위원회의 이사이자 공동 의장인 안젤라 첸(Angela Chen)을 기리는 콘서트다.

The New York Philharmonic will celebrate the Lunar New Year, welcoming the Year of the Snake with a Concert and Gala on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the Wu Tsai Theater, David Geffen Hall. This year’s Lunar New Year Concert and Gala honors philanthropist, NY PhilBoard Member, and NY Phil International Advisory Board Co-Chair Angela Chen in a celebration of cultural heritage, new beginnings, and music’s capacity to transcend borders.

 

Conductor Tianyi Lu (in her NY Phil debut) will lead the Orchestra in Li Huanzhi’s Spring Festival Overture; the Prologue to A Mad Tea Party from Unsuk Chin’s opera Alice in Wonderland; Casella’s La donna serpente, Suite No. 1; Chen Yi’s Chinese Folk Dance Suite, featuring violinist Inmo Yang (NY Phil debut) as soloist; and Bizet’s Carmen Suite No. 1. Gala events will include a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m. on the Leon and Norma Hess Grand Promenade; the concert, which begins at 7:00 p.m.; and a seated dinner, attended by the artists, immediately following the performance, also on the Hess Grand Promenade. 

 

Attire for the Gala will be heritage formal or black tie. Starr International Foundation is the Presenting Sponsor of the Lunar New Year Gala and Lexus is the Event Sponsor. The Honorary Gala Chairs are Yuja

Wang and Mr. Maurice R. Greenberg. The Gala Co-Chairs are Angela Chen, Misook Doolittle, Kay and Jackson Tai, Oscar L. Tang and H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang, and Ling Tian and Diana Wang.

 

Tickets to New York Philharmonic performances may be purchased online at nyphil.org or by calling (212) 875-5656, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Tickets may also be purchased at the Welcome Center at David Geffen Hall. The Welcome Center opens at 10:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and at noon on Sunday. On performance evenings, the Welcome Center closes one-half hour after performance time; other evenings it closes at 6:00 p.m.
